Soda...What's all the fuss?

So I personally do not get what all the fuss is about SODA or as they call it out here in the west, pop!
Occasionally if I go out to eat I may get a Sprite or a Root beer, but that is rare. Usually I just stick with water.  I do not ever drink any cola of any kind and I cannot stand Dr. Pepper, Mt. Dew or Cream Sodas. Soda is just not my thing.  That doesn't mean I don't have a thing, believe me I do....
Of course that is for a later discussion.

Moving on, I know people that fill up anywhere from 32 oz to 64 oz. mugs full of soda on a daily basis.  I also have friends and family that stock their fridges full of cases and cases of soda and it may only last a week.  That is a pretty serious addiction.  Yes I mean addiction!  Anytime your body craves something so much that you have to have it daily and in large amounts then yes, you have an addiction. However, I am not here to lecture anyone, I simply would like to educate you.

Let us forget for a moment all of the harmful chemicals (e.g.GMO ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup, 4 -Mel, and phosporich acid) we are ingesting when we drink soda.  For now I'll focus on sugar.  High amounts of white, processed sugar like what is found in soda can have damaging and lasting affects on your body such as high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, heart disease and an increase in insulin levels.  A report by the Nutrition Research Center tracks what soda does to you after you drink it:

The first 10 minutes: within 10 minutes after drinking sodas, 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system (100% more than the recommended daily sugar intake) and phosphoric acid cuts the overwhelming sweetness and that’s the only reason that you won’t throw up.
Within 20 minutes: Your body will experience an insulin burst as your blood sugar spikes while your liver turn massive amount of sugar into fat.
Within 40 minutes: Your body has absorbed caffeine so your blood pressure goes up and your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream.
Within 45 minutes: your body releases more dopamine (dopamine stimulates the pleasure centers of the brain)—the same reaction with drug addicts and their response to heroin.
After 60 minutes: Phosphoric acid binds magnesium, zinc and calcium in your lower intestine and high levels of artificial sweeteners (like aspartame) or sugar increases excretion of calcium via urine. The caffeine will also come to play by dehydrating your body and you will lose a lot of water by going to bathroom. Phosphoric acid and caffeine also deplete your body from the bonded magnesium, zinc and calcium as well as sodium, electrolyte and water that were headed to your bones. After losing the valuable nutrients in your body that could have been used for hydrating or building stronger bones and teeth, you get sugar rush and your system will crash.

Not a pretty thought.

Just take a look at the diagram above. Soda clearly can have negative affects on all parts of your body. So is it worth it?

Back to the addiction thing...what if you just can't stop?  Oh but you can. I have seen with my own eyes Plexus Slim (the pink drink) help individuals stop their soda addictions.  It is a natural drink taken in the morning with no artificial colors or sweeteners filled with plant based ingredients and it is not a meal replacement or a diet plan. The pink drink was originally designed to help balance blood sugar as well as maintain healthy cholesterol and lipid levels. It has done so much more than that!  It can help with weight loss as well as an increase of energy and give you better sleep. It also helps curb your cravings allowing you to make healthier choices.  So put down the soda and start picking up the pink drink!

No brainer!
